Our Xcool™ management system reduces cooling costs while ensuring that produce quality is retained. Xcool™ is a real time monitoring system that recognizes when produce has reached the optimal cooling temperature and excessive weight loss is imminent.
 
When implemented together, Xcool™ and Xtend Iceless System, become an attractive alternative to conventional ice packing methods commonly used for transporting broccoli, garbanzo and selected herbs.

How Xcool™  Works
As Xtend® Iceless System cartons are brought in from the field, their temperature is measured. If temperature is above 60º F, the pallet is sent to a forced air cooling chamber where Xcool™ manages the cooling process. Xcool™ alerts cooling operators when pallets have reached desired temperature or automatically turns off cooling system (user specified).

 

Pallets that are below 60º F (directly from the field or after forced air cooling) are loaded into the vacuum cooling tube where Xcool™  temperature probes and a scale are installed.

 

 

 

Xcool™ manages the vacuum cooling process, relying on its proprietary algorithms to shut down the system or alert operators at just the right time—when target temperature is reached yet produce has not incurred significant weight loss.

 

All data is processed and available for display in user-friendly, online reports. Users can access and save pertinent information about each cooling cycle.
